Admin: Grade Depth Chart
Access Level
Selector can view grade tiers and scores, drag reorder, lock/unlock, suppress/restore, set availability, clear overrides, and enter subjective scores. Owner can also recalculate the grade.
Overview
Use Grade Chart to manage tier ranking for one grade in a selected season.
The page groups officials into five tier columns and lets selectors apply manual overrides.
How to Access
From the sidebar, expand Depth Charting, then click Grade Chart.
Before You Start
- Select both a Season and Grade.
- Use Subgroup if you need to filter to one subgroup.
- If no data appears, run Recalculate Grade (Owner access required).

Tier Columns
The chart shows five tier columns (names and colours can be customised):
- Tier 1
- Tier 2
- Tier 3
- Tier 4
- Tier 5
Each official row includes:
- Rank
- Official name
- Depth score button (opens Score Breakdown)
- Optional score split bar (calculated vs subjective)
- Selector actions
Selector Actions
Selectors can:
- Drag officials to reorder ranks
- Set Avail score (0.0 to 10.0)
- Lock or unlock an official
- Suppress or restore an official
- Enter subjective scores
- Clear all overrides for the current scope
Fields and Inputs
Season, required
- Chooses the season used for ranking and score data
Grade, required
- Chooses which grade chart to display
Subgroup, optional
- Filters the chart to a specific subgroup
Avail, required when edited
- Slider from 0 to 10
- Saved in 0.5 steps
Scores: Score (0-100), optional per metric
- Only saved for metrics where a score is entered
Scores: Notes, optional
- Free text notes per metric
Common Tasks
Load a Grade Chart
- Open Depth Charting > Grade Chart.
- Select Season.
- Select Grade.
- Optionally select Subgroup.
- Result: Tier cards load for that scope.
Reorder Officials (Selector)
- Drag an official using the drag handle.
- Drop the official into the desired position.
- Result: Order saves automatically and rank badges update.
Lock or Unlock an Official (Selector)
- Click the lock button in the official row.
- Result:
If locked, the official is pinned during recalculation.
If unlocked, rank can move during recalculation.
Hide or Restore an Official (Selector)
- Click the eye button in the official row.
- Result:
Hidden officials are not shown in published view.
Visible officials are restored to normal display.
Adjust Availability (Selector)
- Move the Avail slider in the official row.
- Release the slider.
- Result: Availability is saved and confirmation appears.
Enter Subjective Scores (Selector)
- Click Scores in the official row.
- Enter score values (0 to 100) for one or more metrics.
- Add optional notes.
- Click Save Scores.
- Result: Scores save and chart updates.
Bulk Apply Subjective Score (Selector)
- Click Bulk Score.
- Select Metric.
- Enter Score (0-100) and optional notes.
- Tick one or more officials.
- Click Apply Score.
- Result: Score is applied to selected officials in the current chart scope.
Clear All Overrides (Selector)
- Click Clear Overrides.
- Confirm the prompt.
- Result: Manual ranking overrides are removed for the current scope.
Recalculate This Grade (Owner)
- Click Recalculate Grade.
- Wait for completion.
- Result: Chart is recalculated and refreshed.
Export Grade CSV
- Load the chart with your required season/grade/subgroup.
- Click Export CSV.
- Result: Grade chart data downloads as a CSV file.
Validation and Rules
- You must select both Season and Grade before loading
- Search requires at least 2 characters
- Subjective scores must be between 0 and 100
- Bulk score requires at least one selected official
- Availability is entered on a 0 to 10 scale
Troubleshooting
Chart does not load
Symptoms
The chart stays empty or you see a load error.
How to Fix
- Check that both Season and Grade are selected.
- If needed, reload the page.
- If you have Owner access, run Recalculate Grade.
Common Causes
- Required filters were not selected
- Chart data has not been recalculated for that scope
Cannot move a row
Symptoms
Dragging does not change order for a row.
How to Fix
- Confirm you have Selector access.
- Check whether the official is locked.
- Unlock the official if rank movement is needed.
Common Causes
- User does not have selector permissions
- Official is locked (pinned)
