AI Features
Access Level
AI features require an active MOS subscription with the AI features add-on. Each feature also has a group access setting. Contact your Owner if an AI feature described here is not visible.
Overview
MOS provides AI-assisted tools for rewriting text, summarising official performance, providing review context, drafting season reviews, creating Trainer content, and drafting source-grounded exam questions.
AI output is assistance, not an approved decision or a replacement for professional judgement. Read every result, check it against the source information, and edit it where necessary before saving or sharing it.

AI Rewrite
AI Rewrite is available in rich-text editors when your role has access. These editors include:
- Assessment and plan entries, reviews, and feedback
- Assessment and plan template descriptions
- Exam descriptions, completion messages, and question text
- News article content
- About Me profile text
The purple toolbar button is labelled AI Rewrite when you point to it.
Rewrite Text
- Write or paste a draft into a rich-text editor.
- To rewrite only part of the draft, select that text. Leave the text unselected to rewrite the entire editor.
- Click AI Rewrite in the editor toolbar.
- Wait while MOS processes the text.
- Result: MOS replaces the selected text or editor content with the rewritten version.
- Review the result and make any required changes before saving the form.
The rewrite is not saved merely because it appears in the editor. Use the page's normal Save, Submit, or Publish action when you are satisfied with it.
Note
The text sent for rewriting can be up to 5,000 characters. AI requests are limited, so you may be asked to wait before trying again after repeated use.

Official Summary
Available in: Depth Charting > Score Breakdown
When enabled for your role, an AI Summary appears above each available Diary, Assessments, and Plans breakdown table. MOS generates the first summary automatically.
Each summary uses written content from that section for the selected official and season. It does not change the official's score, tier, or rank.
Change the Summary Range
- Open an official in Score Breakdown.
- Find AI Summary in the Diary, Assessments, or Plans card.
- Select an available range, such as Last 3, Last 5, or Last 10.
- Click Re-summarise.
- Result: The summary refreshes for the selected number of entries.
MOS tells you when no shared entries exist or when entries do not contain written content to summarise. See Score Breakdown for the complete page workflow.
Review Context
Available in: Match day, media, season, custom, diary, and plan review editors
When you open a supported review editor, the AI Summary panel loads automatically. It provides background to help you prepare feedback; it does not write or submit the review for you.
Depending on the review type, the summary may use:
- The official's recent written assessment or diary content
- Reviewer feedback from recent entries
- Current and earlier development plans
- An anonymised comparison with other plans when the official has no earlier plan history
Source badges below the summary show the entry types used. An Old data badge appears if MOS had to use earlier information because current-season information was unavailable.
Use this summary as context only. Base the saved review on your own observations and professional judgement. See Admin Assessments and Plans for the review workflow.
Season Review Generator
Available in: The overall comment section of a season review
The generator creates a draft end-of-season narrative. It can use:
- Up to 10 diary entries
- Up to 10 match day, media, or custom assessments
- Up to 5 plan entries
- Notes already entered in the overall comment box
- A PDF, Word, text, rich-text, CSV, or Excel document attached to the season review
- Depth-chart information when the person generating the draft also has Selector access
At least three match day, media, or custom assessments with written content are required.
Generate a Season Review Draft
- Open a season review for the official.
- In the overall comment box, enter any key points or notes that the draft must cover.
- If required, attach the supporting document before generating the draft.
- Click Generate Season Review with AI.
- Review the draft in the AI Season Summary window. MOS also shows how many diary entries, assessments, and plans were used and whether an attached document was included.
- Click Insert into editor to replace the overall comment with the draft, or click Dismiss to leave the comment unchanged.
- Edit and verify the inserted text.
- Save the season review using the normal review workflow.
The generated text remains an editable draft until a reviewer saves it. See Admin Assessments and Plans for the complete season review workflow.
Exam Question Drafting
Available in: Learning Management > Exams
This capability creates private, source-grounded question drafts from pasted laws or playing conditions and uploaded PDF, Word, or plain-text documents. MOS retains the original and readable source content with the draft batch so an authorised reviewer can check the evidence.
The AI may return fewer questions than requested when the source does not directly support enough clear questions. Every draft remains outside the exam until an authorised person verifies the wording, every answer and correct-answer marking, the reasoning, and the cited source excerpt.
See Exam Management for the complete generation, review, and publication workflow.
Trainer
Available in: Learning > Trainer and Learning Management > Trainer
Trainer provides approved scenario packs for users to complete. Owners and trainers can create packs manually or ask AI to suggest draft packs and scenarios from selected diaries, assessments, and development plans.
AI suggestions are not made available to users automatically. A trainer reviews the scenario prompt, rubric, internal scoring benchmark, audience, and other pack settings before activating the pack. AI is not used to invent a new scenario when a user starts a session.
See Trainer Management for pack creation and session review. See Trainer for the user workflow.
Troubleshooting
An AI feature is not visible
- Confirm the AI features add-on is active for the subscription.
- Ask an Owner to check the relevant access setting in Admin > Group Settings.
- Confirm your current role is included in that setting.
- Refresh the page after the setting has been changed.
AI Rewrite does nothing
Enter some text before clicking AI Rewrite. The button does not process an empty editor.
If the text is longer than 5,000 characters, shorten it or rewrite a selected section.
You see "Too many AI requests"
Wait before trying again. MOS limits repeated AI requests for each user.
Content was flagged
Revise the source text and try again. MOS does not return rewritten or summarised content when the AI content filter flags the request.
The AI service is unavailable or a summary fails
Try again later. Your original text and saved MOS records are not replaced by a failed request.
A season review cannot be generated
The official needs at least three match day, media, or custom assessments with written content. Add or complete the relevant assessments, then try again.
AI output is incomplete or inaccurate
Check the result against the official's records and your own observations. Edit the text before saving, or dismiss it and write the content yourself.
